Shauna’s Story

Shauna began her memorable Irish dancing career at the early age of 4, travelling from her hometown of Cashel, County Tipperary to the renowned Scoil Uí Nualláin, Limerick. With her dedication and natural flare for Irish dance, she quickly climbed the ranks, winning most major Championships in Ireland and the UK. Shauna was crowned Munster Champion an impressive 11 years in a row, an achievement that both she and her teachers are very proud of.

Shauna continued successfully over the years , winning All Scotland Championships and Great Britain Championships. The highlight of her competitive career however, was being crowned a 3 time World Champion, exceeding her ultimate goal.

Shauna gives special thanks to her teachers, especially to the late Mr. Tony Nolan for creating such a positive and encouraging environment, making her dance experience so enjoyable. It is because of this, Shauna continues to love Irish Dance today.

Outside of competitive dancing, Shauna has travelled to Brussels over the years for St.Patrick’s Day celebrations to dance for members of the European Parliament, danced accompanied live to the music of The Chieftains for special celebrations at a Gala concert and delighted European Ministers when she danced at the Guinness Hop Store in Dublin during the celebrations for The Gathering. She also performed to live audiences in France as part of a troupe of musicians and dancers. Most recently, Shauna takes great pride in performing to the wonderful audiences of Killarney and Tralee with the talented cast of Celtic Steps The Show.
