Celtic Steps Feature In Denmark’s Top Travel TV Show

The splendid sights and sounds of our wonderful county of Kerry have been showcased in one of Denmark’s most popular travel shows by Anne-Vibeke Rejser with Celtic Steps The Show at the very top of the to do list.

In the feature long episode Co. Musical & Dance Director of Celtic Steps, David Rea takes the audience through the history of Irish Music and Dance going back hundreds of years to the days of the old Irish Cottages where people would come together to play instruments like the accordion and fiddle and dance on the old flagstone floor to the rythm of the beat. David goes on to explain how this raw form of old style dancing has evolved throughout the years, culminating in the speed and agility of what we know today as modern Irish Dancing.

The travel episode puts a spotlight on Celtic Steps The Show and the type of content that a visitor to the Show can look forward to including classic Irish Songs like Raglan Road as well as some of its star musicians such as Roísin Ryan, the Show’s lead singer, Matt Bashford, the Show’s uilleann piper and Emily Flack, the Show’s resident pianist. The top travel program also focuses on Celtic Steps World Champion Dance Troop with the raw A cappella style dance being quoted as one of the Show’s most popular pieces.

The segment finishes by highlighting Killarney as a hotbed for old Irish traditions and culture which of course will always be intrinsically linked to the beauty of Irish music, song and dance.

Goddag Denmark from all your friends at Celtic Steps!!
